Hello World
Introduction
Welcome to 2z.au /tsaʊ/, the dumping ground for any inane ramblings I may have on any given day.
I’m Dee-Jay, an Australian Cybersecurity Engineer with apparently too much free time on my hands.
This is my alternative to rambling on Twitter or Bluesky, as I have neither of those, nor do I have any desire to join (I am on Mastadon however, though rarely post). It is a marginal upgrade from screaming into the void, probably.
What’s with that website name?
The fake revisionist answer
The 2z refers to the double z at the end of my Surname, Logozzo, which in the Italian dialect is pronounced as a “Voiceless Dental Sibilant Affricate”; a hard ’ts’ sound, like at the end of cats. This is why Italian Loan words such as Pizza and Mozzarella are pronounced the way they are.
This is concatenated with the .au TLD, as I am Australian after all.
All together it is pronounced /tsaʊ/. If you don’t speak IPA, think Tau (The Greek Symbol and Superior Mathematical Constant) but with a /ts/ instead of the open /t/ at the front.
The real answer
The domain was available.
Fun fact: of the 1296 valid 2-char .au domains, ~30 are still unregistered as of the posting of this blog (2026-05-08).
